Patches

A rainy day is a perfect time to sew these patches given to me by my friend.
She got it from a fabric store ( I know, where else ). Fabric samples of discontinued
designs. The fabric store would religiously call her every time they have a stack for her to pick up.
So, she has tons !!!

                                                   My little girl, enjoying the loot.

I sewed a twin size bed cover. Before I sew them together, I thought of donating it for charity- now
I feel like holding on to it -- it looked so beautiful atop my daughter's bed !! oh, me'

Cari and Lois

              Hi! I'm mom's(the blogger) first daughter. Sorry my mom hasn't blogged   in awhile. I'm her number one fan, so I always look forward to read what she would write, but my mom is super busy right now, so, I asked her if I can be her guest writer. She agreed, just for today- she said. I am so happy, as I always want to write.
            Well, you might have read in my mom's earlier post about mine and my sister's hair clip business. We made it out with ribbons.We sold a few with our friends and neighbors and when my mom's sister came for a visit, my sister gave her one and she wore it to her family's reunion. Then she told them that my sister and I made it- so now we got more orders, because of that, my mom has to help us. This is becoming a family business now, I guess. We even made a name for it and labels !! yey, so you see when mother's get involve it becomes big time ! So, she, my mom is so busy, because she has to teach Relief Society,too and do all things "Relief" and also clean our house all the time because she wants it clean when buyers come to see our house for sale.
             Anyway, our business name is " Cari and Lois". These are my grandmother's name. Cari, for Caridad, my 97 year old grandma in the Philippines and Lois, she passed away before I was born. My mom also opened a shop at Etsy, now she is super busy. Our Etsy shop is called, " Mac and Doyle", after my grandfathers. They also have passed away. Mac for Macario, my mom's dad and Doyle is my Daddy's dad.I have not seen any of them. Except my granma Cari. So, why we have a different name at Etsy? is because, I think theres already one Etsy shop named Cari or Lois. Please visit our shop at Etsy. I wish I can put the link so you can go and see our page but I don't know how. My mom should be able to add it next time.
             If you want to order, just email my mom and write to her in her facebook. If you are from far away place, I think my mom can mail it to you. Our headbands are $ 3.50 and hair clips at $2.50. the hair clips has double purpose as you can use it as a brooch. That's all for today. I hope you will hear from me again, if my mom would let me. Bye, and thanks for reading.

To Dress A Nook

I turned another year older last December- nah, I'm not going to tell you my age.I'm living the life is all. Guess what Brunt gave me though...a Barnes and Nobles ereader!!, the color nook. I'm so excited to play with it! and fill it up and fill it up.
He also bought me a case in which to protect my treasured nook. But,as I opened it and slid the tablet, it did not fit.
A naked nook needs a "dress".
I went to Walmart and came home
with an all leather planner case.
cost= $ 12.37
My Barnes and Nobles ereader
cover, that did not cover,
cost = $ 29.00
What I did : measured and cut to fit
the sides, exposing nook's window.
Slid nook in and hurrah !!
fully "dressed-to-kill"...
and the proud owner is
simply delighted.
